TerraVici Drills 8 3/4 Inch High Dogleg Curve in the Eagle Ford Shale
Date: January 2013
TerraVici was employed to drill a horizontal well for an Operator in the Eagle Ford shale play. The 12 1/4″ surface hole was drilled by TerraVici with a conventional mud motor assembly. A 9 5/8″ casing string was set at 4350ft. The casing shoe was drilled out with a 6 1/2in TerraVici RSS which drilled an S-shaped section, using closed loop inclination hold down to the curve Kick of Point. At the Kick Off Point, a High Dogleg configured RSS drilled the entire curve at times achieving over 16.0 deg/100ft Dog Severity when needed.
